The first photo is actually a girl standing and peeing, the title Boys Pee On Things is just a statement of a fact. How did you decide on depicting boys peeing on things in your book? If there is a sequel will it be about girls who pee on things? BJ Panda Bear had the opportunity to speak with founding member, Lida Fox at their performance during Frieze, hosted by Ritual Projects Los Angeles at Opening Ceremony, on how cumgirl8 came to be, the bands wildest stories, and insight on her latest publication. Contributions to her book, include more photography and writing focusing on the increasing pressure to diminish vulnerability in the male of experience. Through her raw and documentary like photographs, Fox unpacks masculinity with everyday tasks like, of course, public urination. Keeping with cumgirl8’s constant state of rebellion, Lida Fox deconstructs male norms while finding a strength in vulnerability through her photo book, Boys Pee On Things (GOOD TASTE PUBLISHING ). With a camgirl name such as cumgirl8, their sound of experimental punk can only hope to express provocative leitmotifs about embracing the art of not giving a fuck. Channeling both their feminine and masculine counterparts, their unique styles intertwine to create an image and sound that means to provoke. You can find band members, Lida, Chase, and Veronika usually sporting latex or some type of beautifully outlandish and one of kind ensembles that embodies what it means to be a woman in punk. With the over looked and under-documented contributions women have made to the punk rock movement, the all girl band defies such silence with their own experimental and erotic take on the tried and true genre. Cumgirl8 is the ostentatious collective of musicians, who united to empower people to love themselves and become their best self.
